Above are my top picks for “Best Blender For The Money“.
Food Blenders or Blender/Food Processor Combos are quite convenient kitchen appliances because they combine the functions of two appliances into one. Also, as a result of the fact that there is only ONE appliance needed instead of TWO, precious kitchen space is saved! When Blenders first came onto the market, their main function was to liquefy anything you put into them, and they were primarily offshoots of “milkshake machines”. Over time, appliances that used to be just “Blenders” have become multi-function appliances. Important considerations when shopping for a Food Blender or Blender/Food Processor Combo are:
Power (watts): It takes a lot more power to mix dough than it does just to make a smoothie. Generally, 700 watts is considered a minimum. A less powerful machine might do the job, but over time there is a greater risk of burning out the motor.
Speed Settings: Four or higher is considered the best for multiple functions. Almost every machine has a Pulse function, and they all work the same way. Different speeds are needed for different processing options, and it is especially important to have a couple of really different SLOWER Speed Settings. There are plenty of machines with 12 speeds of which the top 10 are just faster, faster, faster, and so forth.
Safety: Features like making sure that the machine’s motor WILL NOT spin unless the mixing container is locked into place are vital. Also, remember that even the best machines don’t protect you from the razor sharp blades, so having the blades HARD TO ACCESS is a definite plus! There really shouldn’t be any need to get you hands anywhere near the blades. Many people think they need to get their hand down in there to clean the blades manually with a dish rag or sponge. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! To clean the blades, just empty the container, fill it HALF full of water, add a drop of dish detergent, and blend for a few seconds. Repeat this as much as you need to and then fill the container with water only and do a “RINSE BLEND” a couple of times. There is NO NEED to touch the blades EVER! Even if putting the blender into the dishwasher, just disassemble, and place the pitcher and blade assembly in separately. Again, there is NO NEED to touch the blades ever!
With all of this said, here are links to some of the best:
